This official COBIT 5 Foundation Course includes an exam, leading to the COBIT 5 Foundation certification. COBIT 5 is the latest edition of ISACA’s globally accepted framework. It provides an end-to-end business view of the governance of enterprise IT, reflecting the central role of information and technology in creating value for enterprises of all sizes. The principles, practices, analytical tools and models found in COBIT 5 embody thought leadership and guidance from business, IT and governance experts around the world. COBIT 5 provides guidance to executives and those charged with making decisions concerning the use of technology in support of organisational objectives. COBIT 5 helps business leaders address the needs of all stakeholders across the enterprise and ultimately maximise the value from information and technology.

Module 3: An introduction to COBIT 5 Implementation

• The three interrelated components of the life cycle model • The enterprise specific internal and external environment factors a they apply to change management • The Importance of Pain Points and Trigger Events that require improved governance and management of enterprise IT • The importance of the business case to a programme initiative leveraging COBIT 5 • The characteristics of a good business case and what it should typically include

Module 4: Process Capability Model (The Process Assessment Model – PAM)

• The 6 Capability Levels, 9 attributes, and rating scale based on ISO 15504 • The reasons for carrying out a Process Capability Assessment • The scope of the COBIT assessment programme • The differences between a Maturity and a Capability Assessment • The purpose of a Process Reference Model as defined by ISO 15504 • The differences between the two dimensions outlined in the ISO15504 approach • The differences between Generic and Specific attributes outlined in the COBIT PAM • The benefits of the COBIT Capability Assessment approach

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, but it is recommended that participants have some understanding of IT governance. Some review on the first evening of the course will be required, to prepare for the exam on day 3.
