This fast paced one day workshop is designed for Programme and Portfolio Managers, Executives and PMO staff who would like to use now available in Project Server 2010 to create, optimize, select, manage and report on project portfolios. This workshop is also ideal for those interested in evaluating the EPM Products prior to internal deployment.
The workshop takes trainees through the creation of a business case in Portfolio Server, the workflow approval process, the optimization of a portfolio of projects against defined business drivers and strategic objectives, the subsequent portfolio selection and the management of the portfolio through its execution.
Target Audience:
Executives, Executive support staff, PMO staff, Strategic Advisors, users interested in evaluating the MS EPM solution suite of products.
Pre-requisites:
Trainee attendance at “Enterprise Project Management” and “Enterprise Resource and Collaboration Management” is preferable.
Prior exposure to Organizational Strategic planning and Project Portfolio Selection an advantage.
At Course Completion:
At course completion students will be able to:
Use Project Server to capture an initial project request/business case
Use Project Server workflow to approve or reject proposed projects
Use Project Server to define the alignment of each proposal with defined strategic drivers
Select a portfolio of optimized projects
Monitor and Report on portfolios of projects as they progress to completion
