Create with Adobe’s Capture Mobile app: Creating Brushes

Adobe Capture allows you to take a photo from your Android, iPhone or iPad device and convert it into a brush for use with Creative Cloud Libraries in Photoshop CC.

Adobe Capture is part of the Creative Cloud membership and is available through Adobe’s website, Google Play and iTunes links. Once you have installed Capture and have created a new or signed into your existing account; you can follow these easy steps to create a brush.

1. In Adobe Capture, click Brushes
2. Choose the Creative Cloud Library or create a new one to store your brushes.
3. Click the + button to start a new brush
4. You can use your device’s camera to capture a new image

5. Click on the background area around the object to inform the program that you wish to exclude this tone of content from the capture.
6. Use the slider to adjust how much of the image is kept or removed.

7. When ready click the camera icon on your screen to capture the image.
8. In the next screen use the handles to crop the image area as needed

9. To navigate between steps use the right arrow to confirm and the left arrow icon to go back

10. When you see the preview window, you can choose to edit the brush with style, crop, refine, and presets options

11. When happy with your new brush press the green tick then the arrow
12. Give your brush a name then click on the tick

You now have a new brush you can access and use in Photoshop CC through your Creative Cloud Library
