Create with Adobe’s Capture Mobile App: Shapes

 Jun 16, 2016

Part of the Adobe Creative Cloud Mobile Applications suite, Adobe Capture is a set of tools that allow you to photograph and reuse aspects of your image in Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and many other creative cloud applications.

The Shapes tool is a favourite of mine for capturing quick sketches and images of objects that are then traced into vector graphics. Easily imported into Illustrator via the Creative Cloud library system, the traced image can then be used as you like. Access and use of Capture’s tools is available as part of Adobe CC membership. Simply follow these steps:

1. Install Adobe Capture on your Android, iPhone or iPad.

2. Launch Capture, login to your Creative Cloud account and select the Shapes tool.

3. Take an initial capture photo or use a photo already saved to your device.

4. Modify the image in the edit mode.

5. Preview and then save to an an existing Creative Cloud Library or create a new one.

6. In Illustrator, open your creative cloud Library and drag the image into your Artboard(s).

Until next time enjoy capturing and creating with Adobe Creative Cloud.
