A lot has changed over the years when it comes to consoles. At first we had consoles that were primarily used for gaming; nowadays we can use them for media services as well. This was made very clear when they announced the consoles and the features they ship with.
The features that are now included are broader than their predecessors and included entertainment features that made these machines not just consoles but home entertainment units. The two giants that stand out in the console world is the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, both of which include the entertainment features.
Being an owner of one of these consoles, I can say that I really enjoy the services that they provide. Some of these services include Skype, Youtube and even Live TV. One of the features they include is called SmartGlass and I am particularly fond of it, this allows you to use a remote device as a remote to the console or as a second screen in some apps.
To set up your devices to use the SmartGlass functionality you have to perform the following steps:
- In your console’s settings page, you have to enable the “SmartGlass Connections” setting. This is found under the preferences option:
- On the device that you will be using you must install the SmartGlass app.
- Sign into your Microsoft account in the app.
- Once the sign-in process is done you can see an interface of your account and a “connect button on the top” this will detect the Xbox that is on the same network.
