NEW HORIZONS ADDS A TOUCH OF PINK TO SUPPORT THE MCGRATH FOUNDATION

New Horizons Learning Centres is excited to announce its new partnership with the McGrath Foundation in support of the Foundation’s mission to raise money to fund McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia and increase breast health understanding and awareness.

McGrath Foundation Ambassador and Director, Tracy Bevan, says the McGrath Foundation continues to be blown away by the support from Australian communities, which directly helps the Foundation in its mission to ensure every family in Australia experiencing breast cancer has access to a breast care nurse no matter where they live – and always free.

As part of this new education-based partnership New Horizons Learning Centres will be working with the Foundation to deliver a series of Microsoft Office 365 training to McGrath Breast Care Nurses across Australia.

“Technology skills are critical in advancing the way nurses deliver patient care. It’s also at the centre of everything we do at New Horizons”, says Christine Thomson, Head of Marketing. “We’re excited to launch this new initiative. Many of the McGrath Breast Care Nurses are in remote locations and the time and accessibility of keeping up-to-date with important day-to-day tools can be challenging.”

New Horizons, a Gold Microsoft Partner for over 20 years, will deliver the programme via their online live, instructor led training modality. Each session will also be recorded to allow nurses anywhere, and at any time to update their Microsoft Office skills.

This new partnership will be launched at Microsoft Ignite in Sydney 13 and 14 February. “We are proud to have funded 117 McGrath Breast Care Nurses working nationally who, together, have supported more than 50,000 families going through breast cancer. Partnerships like this are truly helping us to make a difference; we couldn’t do it without you,” Tracy said.

ABOUT THE MCGRATH FOUNDATION

Ours is a story with simple – but well-known – beginnings. It started with Jane and Glenn McGrath’s very public experience with breast cancer, and has become one of Australia’s most recognised and respected charities, the McGrath Foundation.

Jane McGrath’s experience with her breast care nurse set the mission for the Foundation, which has become an enduring commitment to support thousands of women and men (and their families) every day, no matter where they live – for free. Since 2005, more than 50,000 families have been supported by a McGrath Breast Care Nurse.

We raise funds to place McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia, as well as lending our voice to increasing breast health understanding and awareness.
