Questions will only open up the staff member to talk and waste time when they should be working.” Listen? “Of course I can listen I was born with two ears but we’re not paid to talk, there’s work to do.” Insight? “What? I’m not a counsellor; I’m a manager.”

In this 4-hour workshop, examine the four core elements of Emotional Intelligence (EI) and drill down into five essential skills in the outward facing components of EI. Many managers who have advanced because of their technical prowess, often lack some of the core components of emotional and interpersonal skills necessary to lead their teams/departments effectively, yet often cannot afford to develop themselves due to the need to hold things together.

As part of the program, prior to the workshop, course attendees will complete an on-line 180° behavioural assessment. This is a 22 question survey filled out by the attendee and anonymously by up to five of their staff members. The results will be fed back in the workshop and provide the participant with insight as to the way that they see their own communication skills versus the way their subordinate staff members see them.
