If goals are pursued by those they are set for rather than being done begrudgingly, avoided or left until the last moment, everyone wins.

There can be many reasons for failing to achieve a goal but a very common one is this. Most organisations use the mnemonic SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bound) to set goals with their staff. This is only one side of the equation. Gauging the buy-in and expectation level of the person charged with achieving the goal is an incredibly important part of the process that is often omitted by managers. Yet this is where a manager can avoid pain and boost productivity by getting some simple processes right.

In this 4-hour workshop, examine the three essential elements of creating goals so that they are more likely to be realised. On top of this, delve into some motivation theory and how goals are indelibly intertwined in this. We also cover 10 specific tactics you can use to increase staff motivation and confidence. Finally, you will be given feedback from your staff on your current goal setting practice via a 180° feedback tool and there will be ample time to practice your new skills.

This workshop is a part of New Horizons' DEEPDIVE series, that applies a 4-hour course format, assisting business professionals to save time, stay up to date with the skills that matter, and dive down into specific information that is important.
